Another Balance Transfer

The first balance transfer is working out fine (I made $110 in interest last month!) so I decided to do another one. I got a 0% offer in the mail with no balance transfer fee, the 0% good until 01/01/09.

I called in and applied, and asked for $20,000 to be transferred to my FNBO card (which has $0 balance right now). I know in one of my previous posts I said that I would only do up to my credit limit so FNBO would transfer the money to me sooner, but I can cover the first month with the balance transfer from AmEx, so I won't be out any pocket money.

The number was 1-800-694-9261. I need to follow up on this in the next week.

Called today and the automated machine said my application was approved. Need to monitor the FNBO credit card so I know when the balance transfer hits that card.

The money posted to my other credit card on 12/19, but it was only $15,000 (instead of the $20,000 I requested). I need to call and have them send me a check, OR put it right in my bank account. I'll have to see what they will do for me...

I called today and spoke to Doreen. At first she said she could not issue a check for $15,000. She wanted to split it into 2 $7500 checks. She submitted one request, but the second said "you have already requested this amount." She had to check with the fraud department who said the first check could be issued January 9 and the second one couldn't be requested until February 9. I asked her if they could do anything else. She noted in the request that I wanted $15,000 and hopefully they will send that. I need to call on January 10 to see what is going on.

I got the entire $15,000 the other day and deposited it into my 6% interest account. But I noticed that it is now down to 5.5%. Eh, still pretty good.

But, that rate is only good up to $25,000 (then it is < 1%), and I am above that now. So, I transferred $12,000 to FNBO savings account, at 5.01%. I left $3000 in the checking account to pay for the monthly payments for the rest of the year, and put a note in my cash flow record to transfer the rest of it back next December.
